ST. LOUIS, - The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded the U.S. Air Force's Mission Planning Enterprise Contract-II (MPEC-II) to provide software management, development, integration and services for mission planning systems.

MPEC-II is a multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a $1 billion total value over 10 years. As an awardee, Boeing will be eligible to bid on contracts under the MPEC-II umbrella over the life of the program.

The Air Force developed the original MPEC program, which began in 2004, to eliminate stovepipes and duplicated efforts in the acquisition of mission planning systems. The MPEC-II contract provides for the extension and sustainment of mission planning software, services and solutions.

"MPEC-II is a natural follow-on to other work we're doing for the U.S. Air Force and Navy," said Mark McGraw, Boeing vice president for Training Systems and Services. "Our strong mission-planning program performance will continue to provide our military customers with the solutions they need, on cost and on schedule."
