WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced Feb. 10 that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Townsend G. Alexander has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Alexander is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Southeast, Jacksonville, Fla.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael A. Brown has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Brown is currently serving as assistant deputy director, Joint Interagency Cyber Task Force, Office of the Director of National Intelligence/deputy assistant secretary for cyber security and communications, National Protection and Programs, Directorate of the DHS, Arlington, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) David H. Buss has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Buss is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and assessment, Multi-National Force, Iraq.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Joseph F. Campbell has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Campbell is currently serving as fleet maintenance officer, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Kendall L. Card has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Card is currently serving as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3, San Diego, Calif.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Nevin P. Carr Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Carr is currently serving as chief of naval research/director, test and evaluation and technology requirements, N091, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John N. Christenson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Christenson is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group 12, Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael J. Connor has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Connor is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group 7, Yokosuka, Japan.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Steven R. Eastburg has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Eastburg is currently serving as program executive officer, Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault and Special Mission Programs, Patuxent River, Md.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Kenneth E. Floyd has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Floyd is currently serving as commander, Strike Force Training Pacific, San Diego, Calif.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William D. French has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. French is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Marianas/U.S. Pacific Command Representative, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau/commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Marianas, Guam.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Philip H. Greene Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Greene is currently serving as commander, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Djibouti.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Bruce E. Grooms has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Grooms is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group 2, Groton, Conn.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Janice M. Hamby has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Edward S. Hebner has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Hebner is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group 7, San Diego, Calif.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michelle J. Howard has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Howard is currently serving as senior military assistant to the secretary of the Navy, Washington, D.C.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Thomas P. Meek has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Meek is currently serving as vice director of security and intelligence/senior intelligence officer, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John C. Orzalli has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Orzalli is currently serving as commander, Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William E. Shannon III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Shannon is currently serving as program executive officer for Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation, Patuxent River, Md.
