DULLES, Va., - Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has received a U.S. Department of Justice award for its small business subcontracting accomplishments for a second consecutive year.

Raytheon's Mission Operations and Services (MOS) business unit received the award June 8, 2010, for its commitment to give small businesses and service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses significant work on the FBI's Law Enforcement National Data Exchange (N-DEx) program.

The company was one of only four large-business prime contractors that met or exceeded the Department of Justice's Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Subcontracting goal for the 2009 fiscal year.

"We highly respect and value the contributions from small businesses," said TW Scott, Raytheon MOS vice president. "They provide superior solutions and services to our community, our customers and our company. This award highlights Raytheon's continued commitment to small businesses, which are vital to our nation's economy."

The Department of Justice's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization presents the award to prime contractors that meet at least one category of their small business goals. The award's purpose is to improve and increase the department's use of small; small disadvantaged; small women-owned; veteran-owned; service-disabled, veteran-owned; and HUBZone small businesses as contractors and subcontractors.

When completed, the FBI's N-DEx system, which is based on an agile, service-oriented architecture, will enable 200,000 investigators in up to 18,000 local, state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies to collect and share incident and investigative information across disparate systems and jurisdiction boundaries.

Note to Editors:

The N-DEx contract is administered through Chief Information Officer - Solutions and Partners 2 (CIO-SP2) contract number HHSN263999900024I. For more information, visit the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center website.
