Pacific Fleet to conduct live firing in the Sea of Japan
Vladivostok, September 15, 2008 - Russian Pacific Fleet has started exercises involving live firing in the Sea of Japan.
Within several days the combat ships will conduct a series of battle exercises, including live firing.
The Admiral Vinogradov and Marshal Shaposhnikov frigates will practice today throw up fire.
Besides battle exercises the antisubmarine warfare ships and rescue service of the Pacific Fleet will carry out joint evolutions and elements of rendering help to the ship in distress.
During the next stage of the exercise, the war ships will fire anti-ship missiles at a surface target, and air defence means at a supersonic training target.
This exercise will involve about ten war ships and sea support ships.
