Raytheon to Provide Providence, R.I., with Improved Port Surveillance

TEWKSBURY, Mass., April 16, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- A program to improve port security with extended radar and video surveillance capabilities for northern Narragansett Bay and the Port of Providence has been completed by Raytheon Company .

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems delivered sensors, to include mobile video, integrated with an Athena data fusion and operations center, giving city officials advanced warning and improved situational awareness in the region. The expanded capabilities provide the city's new Emergency Operations Center with the information and intelligence that Providence port and law enforcement officials need to maintain port security.
