Raytheon to Continue Producing ALR-69A(V) Radar Warning Receivers

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 7, 2009 - Raytheon Company has been awarded a $7.3 million contract for the continued production of ALR-69A(V) radar warning receiver systems for the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

The new contract is for the second phase of a low rate initial production program. This phase calls for production of 10 all-digital receivers. Deliveries of the systems are expected to begin in May 2010 and end in September 2010.

"This award is an important step toward providing our customers a digital radar warning receiver critical to the warfighter," said Roy Azevedo, deputy vice president for Raytheon's Tactical Airborne Systems business area. "With potential customers worldwide, the ALR-69A is applicable to several airborne platforms."

The ALR-69A(V) provides significantly enhanced situational awareness, improved air-crew survivability, and a solution to current and emerging parts-obsolescence issues. The digital architecture of the system permits easy reprogramming to keep pace with future threats. The system is an upgrade replacement of the ALR-69(V) currently installed on U.S. Air Force C-130, F-16, and A-10 aircraft.

Capabilities of the new system include advanced tactical targeting techniques that permit rapid and accurate multi-platform geo-location of threats.

Work on the program is being done at Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems business by its Tactical Airborne Systems organization in Goleta, Calif.
