LOS ANGELES, July 31, 2009 - Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Nora Lin has been installed as FY10 president of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Lin has held various leadership positions within the organization at local, regional and national levels. She also works closely with and supports the SWE collegiate sections.

"I am honored to be leading this organization that empowers
women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering," said Lin.
"SWE has helped position engineering as a highly desirable career to
women through an array of training and development programs, networking
opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities. I'm also
deeply gratified to see an increase in SWE membership and participation
at the SWE national conference within Northrop Grumman."

Lin has broad working experience in engineering for more than 26
years in the defense industry and has worked at Northrop Grumman's
Rolling Meadows, Ill., facility for the past 16 years. She started her
career as an associate scientific programmer and later became a
software engineering technical lead/manager. She led engineering teams
in the development of relational database applications and real-time
software for several military programs. Since 2002, Lin has been the
manager of the Supportability Engineering group. In addition, she led
her site's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI(r)) initiative
and obtained the accreditation of CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating for
Systems and Software Engineering at Rolling Meadows in 2007. She
continues to support the CMMI initiative and prepare the site to pursue
a higher maturity level.

Lin has held the following positions within SWE:
President-Elect, Director of Regions, Region H Governor, Section
Vitality Task Force Chair, Region H Deputy Director, Leadership Coach,
SWE-Chicago Regional Section's President, Vice President and Treasurer.
In 2003 she initiated the creation of a company-wide Northrop Grumman
Women Engineers group and served as the first chair.

Lin was a recipient of the Career Achievement Award at the Women
of Color in Technology Conference in 2008. She also received the Asian
American Engineer of the Year Award in 2009. In addition, she has
received numerous awards and recognitions from SWE local section and
Region H.

Lin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics at Chung Yuan
Christian College of Science and Engineering in Taiwan and earned a
master's degree in physics from the University of Alabama at
Birmingham. Northrop Grumman colleagues Suzanne Jenniches and Alma
Martinez Fallon are past SWE presidents.
