Aviation Command and Control Subsystems with $17 Million Award from U.S.

General Dynamics C4 Systems has received a $17 million contract modification from the U.S. Marine Corps to build nine Combat Operations Center (COC), Capability Set III, systems. The COCs will be included in the development of Processing and Display Subsystems (PDS) for the Marine Corps' new Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S). The CAC2S enables improved coordination among aviation assault and close air support and Marines on the ground. First awarded in 2002, the total COC contract value is $670 million.
Manny Mora, vice president and general manager of Battle Management Systems for General Dynamics C4 Systems, said, "The Marine Corps understands that moving to a common baseline for processing and display of command and control information will help ensure full interoperability across all of its combat elements."
Combat Operations Centers are currently supporting operations at the
battalion, squadron, regiment, group and Marine Expeditionary Brigade levels in Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.
