Northrop Grumman Business Unit Earns ISO 9001/AS9100 Re-certification
August 18, 2009

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Navigation Systems Division (NSD) has achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001/AS9100 re-certification, demonstrating that its quality management system (QMS) meets rigorous international requirements.

The division's sites in Woodland Hills, Calif., Salt Lake City,
and Norfolk, Va., achieved the re-certification by planning,
developing, documenting, implementing and auditing its QMS, followed by
an independent audit of the system by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a
global provider of accredited management system certification. DNV's
third party audit reviewed aspects of the Northrop Grumman QMS relating
to the ISO 9001/AS9100 standard. Navigation Systems Division's German
subsidiary, Northrop Grumman LITEF, successfully completed the ISO
9001/AS9100 certification in November 2007. Its Italian subsidiary,
Northrop Grumman Italia, completed certification in September 2008. The
division site in London, England was ISO 9001:2000 certified in May
2006.

This re-certification audit assessed all clauses in the ISO
9001/AS9100 standard. The AS and ISO standards define internationally
recognized quality management systems. To be certified, a company
element must implement a quality management system encompassing the
enterprise's activities, including management responsibility; resource
management; product realization; and measurement, analysis and
improvement. DNV documented no major nonconformities with respect to
the requirements of the ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.

"This re-certification forms a new baseline from which we apply
Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies to measure our efficiency and improve
our quality management system," said Jim Myers, vice president and
general manager of Northrop Grumman's Navigation Systems Division. "It
reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and
excellence and aids in providing value to our internal and external
customers."

Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security
company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products,
and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems,
shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial
customers worldwide.
