WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced Aug. 24 that the president has made the following flag officer nominations:
Rear Adm. (lower half) David W. Titley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Titley is currently serving as oceanographer/navigator of the Navy, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Jonathan W. White has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). White is currently serving as chief of staff to the commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Stennis Space Center, Miss.
