General Dynamics Awarded $19 Million to Support the Naval Surface Warfare Center

FAIRFAX, Va., -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded an $18.6 million, five-year contract to support the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Philadelphia, Penn., under the Seaport-e contract vehicle.

Under this contract, General Dynamics will provide engineering and technical support of machinery control, machinery information and machinery automation systems. The company's staff, experienced in computer programming, software and systems engineering, program management and technical and administrative skills, will support software development, software process documentation and software data collection. General Dynamics will also perform quality assurance and support the development of policy and procedures, such as software certification and software safety.

The majority of the work will be performed at the NSWCCD Ship Systems Engineering Station located at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center.

"General Dynamics will continue to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center with a proven management team that has the focused technical background needed to operate in a multi-task, fast-paced environment," said Bill Cobb, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology's Combat Systems sector. "We will provide our expertise in the maintenance and support of sea-based vessels to assist NSWCCD in ensuring that its vessels and systems are operational and ready to complete their missions."
