DALLAS, -- Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Advanced Products Center has been recognized as one of the 10 best plants in North America by IndustryWeek magazine.

The award recognizes plants that are leaders in increasing operational efficiency and overall competitiveness, enhancing customer satisfaction, and creating stimulating and rewarding environments. The citation also encourages manufacturers to adopt world-class practices, technologies and improvement strategies.

"This award reflects the APC team's diligence and hard work in pursuing continuous improvement and cost reduction," said Jon Jones, president of Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. "This distinction exemplifies Raytheon's objective to provide the best products for our customers while operating in a lean processing environment."

Raytheon's entry was selected for its implementation of lean-enterprise concepts that raised operations and efficiency to a level exceeding most plants in North America. The facility will receive the award at the IndustryWeek Best Plants Conference in April in Cleveland, Ohio.

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, with 2008 revenues of $4.4 billion and 12,000 employees, is a leading provider of sensor systems that provide actionable information for the network-centric battlefield.
