St. Johns Properties, Inc. to break ground for new facility Dec. 14

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md., -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has signed a lease agreement with St. Johns Properties, Inc. for a new green building at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Md., to improve collaboration with its customers.

St. Johns Properties plans to break ground Dec. 14, 2009, for construction of a 75,000 square foot, LEED-certified building. LEED is a third-party certification program for construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. The new facility is part of the Government and Technology Enterprise project, a technology, research and development business park for government and non-government users within APG.

"Establishing Raytheon's presence on the Aberdeen Proving Ground provides us the opportunity to expand our partnership with the Army and Team C4ISR," said Jerry Powlen, vice president, Raytheon Integrated Communications Systems. "Our close proximity with the customer will help to develop an innovative environment of collaboration and teaming."

Raytheon employees from the Towson, Md., and Fort Monmouth, N.J., locations will be affected by a move from those sites to the newly leased facility in late 2010.
