ORLANDO, FL, - Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has completed construction of a new systems integration and demonstration center for its Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) solution. This center immerses visitors in an audiovisual battlefield simulation, demonstrating the overall JBC-P command and control vision. Located in Orlando, FL, the JBC-P demonstration center presents a whole-system approach to exchanging integrated digital battle command information between aerial platforms, ground platforms, dismounted Warfighters and Commanders in the Tactical Operations Center, resulting in a force multiplying effect. Utilizing an open architecture hardware approach, the center showcases seamless distribution of situational awareness and command and control data to a variety of joint users.

"Our JBC-P integration and demonstration center uses innovative technologies to present a mature vision of next-generation tactical situational awareness," said Rich Russell, director of Sensors, Data Links and Advanced Programs at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. "The center ultimately benefits Warfighters by helping both government and industry expand our concept of operations for the Lockheed Martin JBC-P solution."

The Lockheed Martin Tactical Digital Assistant (TDA) figures prominently in the JBC-P integration and demonstration center. The handheld device sends and receives data and sensor information, keeping Warfighters up to date and giving them total situational awareness in real time. Unlike similar commercial technology, the TDA's ruggedized design can withstand harsh operational and battlefield environments.

The JBC-P solution builds on the company's experience with ground Soldier technologies, including Lockheed Martin's Common Controller Device and TacScape, and industry-leading production programs such as the Apache Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) . In addition to hosting demonstrations for government agencies, the center will help refine Lockheed Martin's innovative design approaches to the JBC-P program.
