Northrop Grumman Awarded 2009 FEMA National Level Exercise Contract

HERNDON, Va., Nov. 18, 2008 -- The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a task order under the National Exercise Program contract to plan, conduct and evaluate the 2009 Tier 1 National Level Exercise (NLE 09).

The time and materials task order is worth more than $12 million over a two-year period.

"The National Level Exercise is the largest, most complex exercise conducted under FEMA's National Exercise Division," said Edward Soriano, Northrop Grumman Technical Services' program manager for the contract. "Northrop Grumman's extensive experience in training and exercise planning will aid our customer in ensuring government officials in the new administration rapidly assimilate the scope and magnitude of a crisis of this magnitude through the exercise process."

Northrop Grumman and its teammates, which include ICF International, Fairfax, Va., Battelle, Columbus, Ohio, Alutiiq, Anchorage, Alaska, L-3 Communications/MPRI, Alexandria, Va., UNITECH, Centreville, Va., and Interface Media Group, Washington, D.C., will perform this work in support of FEMA in Washington, D.C., and the south central states within FEMA's Region VI, which include Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
