SELEX Galileo at the AAAA 2010 Convention: committed to supporting operations with the best technologies
April 14, 2010

SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, will demonstrate at the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA)’s 2010 convention, combat-proven solutions that dramatically enhance the survivability of rotary wing fleets. These range from the Aircraft Gateway Processor (AGP) which delivers a combined threat picture and prioritized tactical response, to the lightweight, low-cost, 5th generation IRCM pointer tracker ECLIPSE, which is currently being offered in partnership with Northrop Grumman Corporation for the US Army’s CIRCM program.

SELEX Galileo has formed a strategic alliance agreement with Northrop Grumman Corporation for the delivery of transmitters (laser based pointer trackers) for the AN/AAQ-24(V) NEMESIS DIRCM system. Over 1200 transmitter assemblies have already been delivered as part of this alliance, the maintenance and support of which continues successfully in the US and internationally.

True to its mission of being a technology and sensors innovator, SELEX Galileo will also showcase the PicoSTAR, an integrated E/O and RF payload, packaged in a compact, lightweight unit, combining AESA radar and E/O capabilities, ideal for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and helicopters.

Leveraging the Company’s successful radar business, its Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) range of sensors will also be on display. The latest contract, in partnership with Sierra Nevada Corporation, will supply the Seaspray 7500E AESA radars for the King Air 350ER Multi-role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) for deployment with US Customs and Border Protection (US CBP). SELEX Galileo’s AESA radars are also in operation with the US Coast Guard, and the Company sees this market sector as having the potential for strong future growth.

Key to all the products promoted at AAAA is SELEX Galileo’s leading laser technology, which has been acknowledged by customers as an important differentiator in the Company’s offerings.

Notes to the Editors:
The Aircraft Gateway Processor (AGP) is currently being delivered to Boeing for US Army and export AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters. For further information, please visit.

The ECLIPSE pointer tracker is the latest development from the SELEX Galileo/Northrop Grumman Corporation partnership and provides a lightweight protection solution for the US Army’s fixed and rotary wing fleet from surface-to-air missile threats. Recent US Army testing has demonstrated the reliability and maturity of ECLIPSE, which, with low mass, low power requirements, minimal airstream intrusion and a predicted MTBF greater than 3,000 hours, offers an ideal solution for the US Army’s CIRCM program.
