Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates travels to Abilene, Kansas, where he will speak at 1 p.m. CDT at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum on the 65th anniversary of the allied victory in Europe. In his remarks, the Secretary will reflect on General Eisenhower's national security policies and approach to defense spending as President.
Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn has no public or media events on his schedule.
