HERNDON, Va. -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has signed an agreement with the U.S. Air Force Global Logistics Center (AFGLSC) to establish a strategic supplier relationship management (SSRM) team to improve support to the nation's warfighters through improved and more effective sustainment processes.
Under the terms of the agreement, Northrop Grumman and AFGLSC will both work to reduce costs and supply chain cycle times, identify readiness and supply chain availability improvements, identify efficient business processes for both parties using value stream mapping, address diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages and obsolescence issues, and provide continuous improvement communication and feedback.
The SSRM team will collaborate and improve initiatives to fully leverage the capabilities of both organizations.
"Program performance is priority one," said Dave Werkheiser, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman Technical Services Life Cycle Optimization and Engineering Group. "By establishing the SSRM team, we have yet another direct line to our valued Air Force customer, which further enables us to provide superior performance across the board."
